User Experience Design - UXD

User experience design(UXD) is the discipline by which customer satisfaction and fidelity is improved by maximising the ease of use of a product. I can help you improve your products and interfaces thru efficient UXD.

1. Strategy

Strategy is the founding stone of any UXD project. It brings together the brand, principles and long term corporate vision. The strategy linked to a UX project will determine the goals, what we are trying to acheive and how to measure success of the project.

2. Research

Involves task analysis as most often used method to research user habits and models. The Research phase can vary a lot from a project to another. One might involve deep user and competitors research, while others might involve only simple and informal interviews or a limited scope survey. For many, the Research phase is essential to create a valid user experience. Unfortunately, it is the most often skipped phase.

3. Analysis

The goal of this phase is to discover important variables and elements from data gathered at the Research phase. Designers begin to creare links and associations between the "why" and the "how". It is then possible to validate this understanding by communicating it to the participating research users.

4. Design

By combining ideas and comments from many people, the Design phase is meant to be collaborative. The process is also iterative; which means that the process cycles back on itself and validates the ideas and principles brought to life in the preceding cycle. By relying on the retroaction set in the previous phases, the goal of the Design phase is to put users in relation with the new ideas and concepts. Then, gather feedback, improve the solution and demonstarte again. Repeat this cycle as many times as required. These ideas can be presented as illustrations, paper prototypes, wireframes or interactive prototypes. The goal is to create tools to simulate and gather feedbackand make sure that branding or graphical elements don't interfere between the user and the prototype; that's why these solutions are visually simplified, only to keep important visual or content areas, buttons and interactions.

5. Production

The Production phase involves production of high quality and fidelity visuals. The recquired content ans assets are created. In this phase, the designer works alongside the developpers to guide and support the product vision and scope.

6. Testing and

A high fidelity version of the product will be demonstrated to the team in charge of this project among the organization, the management team and users to validate the product and make sure it meets its goals. USe case tests will be conducted and, depending on the comments gathered, some improvements or corrections might be executed.
